Here at United Korean Martial Arts Alliance, we’re committed to investing our expertise and resources in order to further achieve our cause. Since 2000, we’ve been supporting our community members in a variety of ways and measuring our success not by monetary size, but by more qualitative measurements such as the scale and effectiveness of our efforts. IVAN BERGERON

Chief Master

Chong Moo Sa Nym Ivan Bergeron, a 8th degree Black Belt with the United Korean Martial Arts Alliance, has over 40 years of martial arts experience. Master Bergeron was Grandmaster Inn Shuk Pak’s first student, and together they opened the first Kuk Sool-Hapkido school in Canada from 1967 to 1969.  Master Bergeron’s experience in the Korean Martial Arts is extensive; he was honored with an 8th degree Black Belt in Kong Shin Bup, a 5th degree in Tae Keuk Do, a 4th degree with the World Kuk Sool Won Association, a 4th degree in Jiu Jitsu and a 1st Degree in Judo. Master Bergeron spent many years seeking and training with the most knowledgeable Grandmasters in the Korean Martial Art of Hapkido, aswell as other disciplines.  His knowledge and experience is invaluable to the United Korean Martial Arts Alliance.

GERRY FORTIN

Chief Master

Chong Moo Sa Nym Gerry Fortin is an 8th degree Black Belt in the United Korean Martial Arts Allince with over 30 years of martial arts experience. Master Fortin is a personal student of Tae Sa Nym H.S. Lee and has been teaching in the Greater Sudbury region for well over 25 years.  Chief Master Fortin has trained in several arts and has obtained Black Belt certification in such martial arts as Hapkido, Zen Do and Kuk Sool Won.  Master Fortin also shares his knowledge by teaching self defense to many organizations and schools all over Ontario.  Chief Master Fortin is well known for his expertise in weapons, where he loves to demonstrate cane techniques.  Recently Master Fortin was honored by his peers with an award from the United Korean Martial Arts Alliance, for 30 years of service in the Martial Arts.

JOHN GENCARELLI

Chief

Chong Moo Sa Nym John Gencarelli, 8th Degree Black Belt, has had extensive training in several Martial Arts disciplines. He holds a Masters degree in Hap Ki Do, Kuk Sool Won and Dahn Moo Do. He is a personal student of Master Hak Sup Lee and has trained and taught Martial Arts for over 30 years. Master Gencarelli is considered by many as one of the pioneers of Martial Arts in Sault Ste. Marie. He has recently been appointed Northern Ontario representative for Team Canada.
